In the first nine months of the year, 10,048 construction equipment have been placed in the Italian market, with a fall of 7% compared to the same period of 2019. More in detail, earth moving machines sold were 9,631 (-8%), while 417 were the road machines (+2%)
On the other side, looking at the sales of the third quarter, the market trend shows a certain reactivity of the sector. Indeed, between July and September construction equipment placed in the Italian market were 4,133, with an increase of 20% compared to the third quarter of 2019.
“The third quarter recovers in some way from the loss of sales experienced during the lockdown in spring – said Mirco Risi, Unacea President. However, uncertainty remains high. There is a need for investments in infrastructures and in the contrast of hydrogeological instability to foster a durable relaunch of the sector and to solve the several systemic deficits too long neglected”.
